To install this warehouse post-tensioned slab system with drop panel, we supplied the required links in the form of prefabricated cages.

The links required for the project were supplied as 0.34m (H) and 0.72m (W) prefabricated link cages.

Technical specifications:  Average of 400 x T10 shear links per 4.2m x 4.2m drop panel; Total weight of links for each panel: 250 kg

Installation time using non-prefabricated methods: 12 manhours per panel

Installation time taken using BRC’s prefabrication solutions: 6 manhours per panel

Using the prefabricated link cages, each drop panel was completed by 2 workers in just 3 hours.

As a result, workers only needed half the time (6 manhours) that would have been required of conventional link tying (12 manhours) to complete placing the cages for each drop panel.
